Honeyed peach, minty herbs, and flowers all define the 2025 Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, a brilliant white based on 64.5% Sauvignon Blanc and 35.5% Sémillon that's being raised in 30% new oak, which is slightly less than in past vintages. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it's incredibly pure and focused, with juicy acidity and a great finish. It's an absolutely stunning wine that pretty much stopped me in my tracks. Drink 2026-2050.

Honeysuckle, lemon grass, white peaches, green apples, and pineapples explode from the glass. The palate is packed with waves of bright, fresh, vibrant, sweet, yellow fruits, with the perfect accent of bitterness, salt, and sweetness in the finish. The wine is made from a blend of 64.5% Semillon, and 35.5% Sauvignon Blanc, picking took place August 14-August 21. Yields were 22 hectoliters per hectare. 14.5% ABV, 3.2 pH. Drink from 2028-2045.

The 2025 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc has a really lovely Sémillon-driven bouquet (64.5% of the blend), beautifully defined with touches of apple blossom, white flowers and pear drop. The palate is very well balanced, with fine acidity, taut and fresh, a little more weight than the Haut-Brion Blanc thanks to the Sémillon, with a touch of ginger and chamomile towards the finish. This is a great La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, perchance the best dry white Bordeaux in 2025.

Both baked and freshly picked apple scents on the nose with clementine, lemon blossom, a touch of apple pie, cinnamon and some soft vanilla notes – smells glorious. Bright and sharp with real energy, focus and zing from the start, such a juicy citrus mid–palate before slightly lengthening and straightening out with a bitter pineapple and stony edge. I love the energy here, focused and racy with clear definition from start to finish. Ageing will add a bit more weight but this is very good, extremely precise and poised with plenty of fruit and lift. Lovely. Pineapple tang. 3.2pH. A yield of 23hl/ha.

This is Sémillon dominant in its character, preserved citrus, white flowers, lemon, great tension and grip, climbs up through the palate, huge waves of secondary flavours and aromatics, savoury and thoroughly charming. Harvest August 14 to 21. 31% new oak, 23hl/ha yield. 3.22ph. Grégoire Bucaille vineyard manager.

The 2025 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc offers lemon confit and tropical tones with real texture and weight. A wine that will age on its density, structure and power, I imagine it will always be rather exotic.
