Muga's unique use of oak:

Muga’s house style comes down to their use of oak. Owning their own cooperage to produce around 1,500 of their own barriques each year, Muga ages everything in oak with a mix of both old and new. Along with the likes of Lopez de Heredia, CVNE, and La Rioja Alta; Muga is one of the handfuls of estates staying true to the century’s old philosophy of the region's past, using traditional regional grapes and ageing in a portion of American oak barrels.

Muga Rioja Reserva: 

The Muga Reserva is a blend of tempranillo, garnacha, mazuelo, and graciano grapes. It is aged for 24 months in oak barrels and then refined in the bottle for a minimum of 12 months.
