Pomerol Wine

If there is one appellation that defines richness and texture in great Bordeaux wines, it is Pomerol, one of the most sought-after regions for collectors of Merlot-based wines. Located on the Right Bank, within the wider Bordeaux wine region, it is a small but highly prestigious appellation known for its depth, opulence and rarity.

At the very top sit estates such as Chateau Petrus, Chateau Le Pin, Chateau Lafleur and Vieux Chateau Certan, whose wines are among the most coveted in the world.

Pomerol lies alongside Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wines, sharing similar grape varieties yet expressing them differently through its terroir. Its vineyards are dominated by clay soils, including the famed blue clay, allowing Merlot to achieve exceptional richness and texture.

This terroir produces wines that are plush and powerful, with velvety tannins and concentrated fruit. Pomerol remains one of the defining appellations within the Bordeaux wine region, revered for its intensity, rarity and depth.
