Domaine Duroche

Domaine DurocheBurgundy, France

Domaine Duroche has become one of the brightest stars of modern Burgundy. Based in Gevrey-Chambertin and led by fifth-generation winemaker Pierre Duroche, the estate has earned an outstanding reputation for producing Pinot Noir of remarkable purity, finesse and precision from some of the appellation's finest vineyard sites.

Estate at a Glance

Domaine Duroche is based in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Cote de Nuits, Burgundy. The estate covers approximately 8.5 hectares across the fifth generation under winemaker Pierre Duroche, practising sustainable, low-intervention viticulture and specialising in Pinot Noir. Notable vineyards include Chambertin-Clos de Beze, Griotte-Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Latricieres-Chambertin, Lavaux Saint-Jacques and Estournelles Saint-Jacques.

Estate History

The history of Domaine Duroche stretches back to the early twentieth century, although the modern estate began to take shape in the 1950s when Philippe Duroche established the domaine in Gevrey-Chambertin and acquired several outstanding vineyard parcels, including vines in Chambertin-Clos de Beze that remain amongst the estate's oldest today.

Pierre Duroche joined the family estate in the early 2000s before taking full responsibility in 2005. Since then, he has transformed the domaine through meticulous vineyard management, lower yields and an increasingly precise approach to winemaking. Rather than pursuing extraction or heavy oak influence, Pierre focuses on balance, freshness and allowing each climat to speak with clarity.

Today, Domaine Duroche is widely regarded as one of Gevrey-Chambertin's benchmark producers. Despite producing only a small number of bottles each year, the estate has gained an international following amongst collectors seeking elegant, terroir-driven Burgundy.
