Lead by Paul-Vincent Avril who continues to be one of the most talented and passionate winemakers in Châteauneuf-du-Pape today. Operating from his estate at the southern edge of the village and managing close to 90 acres of vineyards across the appellation, Paul-Vincent Avril produces just one red and one white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. He has deliberately chosen not to create any special cuvées, concentrating instead on perfecting a single cuvée of the highest quality possible. Paul-Vincent has a rare ability to make truly great, age-worthy wines regardless of the vintage. We would say that Clos des Papes is the most Burgundian of the region in style known for its elegance and texture.
