Favia Erickson Winegrowers, established in 2003, is the collaborative venture of Annie Favia and Andy Erickson. Located in the Napa Valley, this winery is deeply rooted in the region's rich viticultural history, dating back to the late 19th century when the Carbone family of Italian immigrants first cultivated the land. The winery’s home encompasses a house, cellar, gardens, and fruit trees, reflecting the enduring legacy and tradition of Napa Valley’s early wine pioneers.
The terroir of Favia Winery is defined by its unique geographical and geological features. Situated in the Coombsville AVA, at the foot of the Vaca Mountains, the vineyard benefits from volcanic bedrock, which imparts a distinctive minerality to the wines. This area is known for its cooler climate, which, combined with the volcanic soils, results in wines with great depth, complexity, and structure. The terroir allows for a slow and even ripening of grapes, which is ideal for producing balanced and nuanced wines.
Favia’s vineyards are carefully selected for their soil quality, climate, and aspect, ensuring that each site contributes uniquely to the wine’s character. The meticulous viticultural practices and minimal intervention winemaking philosophy allow the natural expression of the grapes to shine through. This approach is evident in the winery’s commitment to creating soulful wines that are a true reflection of their origins.
