Zuccardi Winery, located in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina, is a testament to the pioneering spirit and dedication to quality winemaking that has characterized the Zuccardi family for generations. The winery was founded in 1963 by Alberto Zuccardi, an engineer who initially planted a vineyard to demonstrate an irrigation system he had developed. This vineyard marked the beginning of what would become one of Argentina’s most esteemed wine producers.

Alberto’s innovative approach to viticulture laid the foundation for the winery's success. Terroir and the Uco Valley:

The Zuccardi vineyards are primarily located in the Uco Valley, a region known for its high altitude, diverse microclimates, and varied soil types. This valley, situated at the foothills of the Andes, provides ideal conditions for growing high-quality grapes. The altitude, ranging from 900 to 1,500 meters above sea level, ensures a significant diurnal temperature variation, which helps to preserve acidity and enhance the aromatic qualities of the grapes.

The soils in the Uco Valley are a complex mix of sand, silt, clay, and large stones, each contributing to the distinct characteristics of the wines. The grapes are sourced from a specific parcel in the Paraje Altamira sub-region, known for its calcareous soils and high altitude.
