The Errazuriz Las Pizarras winery is an emblematic testament to the pursuit of excellence in Chilean viticulture, encapsulating a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Named after the distinctive schist soils—"pizarras" being the Spanish term for slate—found in their vineyards, Las Pizarras represents a special endeavour within the renowned Viña Errázuriz estate, itself a cornerstone of the Chilean wine industry since its inception in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errazuriz.

Situated in the prestigious Aconcagua Costa region, a mere stone's throw from the cooling breezes of the Pacific Ocean, the vineyards of Las Pizarras benefit from a unique microclimate. This beneficial positioning allows for an extended ripening period for the grapes, fostering the development of nuanced flavours, vibrant acidity, and an elegant mineral complexity that is the hallmark of their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.

Under the visionary leadership of Eduardo Chadwick, a direct descendant of the winery's founder and a figure synonymous with pioneering endeavours in Chilean winemaking, Las Pizarras has carved out a niche for itself. It embarked on an ambitious project to explore and showcase the unparalleled potential of its terroir. Collaborating with French geologist Françoise Vannier-Petite, the estate undertook detailed geological studies of its vineyard, identifying plots rich in metamorphic schist. This meticulous selection process underpins the exceptional quality of the Las Pizarras wines, highlighting the intrinsic link between terroir and taste.

Hand-selected grapes undergo a meticulous aging process of 14-16 months in French oak, enriching the wine with a palette of black cherry, vanilla, and hints of spice.
