Domaine Vincent Paris

Domaine Vincent ParisProducer from Rhone, France

Vincent Paris is highly regarded for producing some of the finest 100% Syrah wines in the Northern-Rhone appellation, particularly in the region of Cornas. His passion for winemaking can be traced back to his grandfather, Robert Michel, a revered figure in the industry who is often referred to as the godfather of Cornas. Inspired by Michel's legacy, Vincent pursued his studies in Enology at the prestigious University of Avignon and further honed his skills through internships at renowned French wineries Domaine Jean-Louis Chave and Domaine Jean-Luc Columbo.

Cornas has gained a reputation for its production of rich, powerful, and long-lived wines characterized by their supple ripe tannins. These exceptional wines are made exclusively from 100% Syrah grapes, with the region's best wines often originating from the higher vineyards situated behind the city of Cornas. It is on these steep granite clay terraces that the unique style and character of the appellation are shaped. Remarkably, despite the remarkable quality of Cornas wines, they remain relatively affordable compared to those from neighboring appellations such as Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie.

In recent times, Vincent Paris has emerged as one of the standout producers in Cornas. His unwavering dedication and exceptional skill have earned him high praise from industry experts, including Jeb Dunnuck, who has dubbed him a "superstar of Cornas." Consistently year after year, Paris delivers exceptional wines that consistently receive impressive scores. In the company of renowned names like Jaboulet, Thierry Allemand, and Alain Voge, Vincent Paris has made significant contributions to cementing Cornas' position on the world wine map. His outstanding wines celebrate the unique terroir and showcase the immense potential of the Northern-Rhone appellation.

"Grown on the granite slopes of lieu-dit La Geynale, one of the finest of the appellation."

"A wine like a thunder crack that takes you by surprise, it shocks the palate. Long finish. This is an exceptional vintage for Vincent Paris. 100-year-old vines." - Matt Walls, Decanter on the Geynale 2020

Vincent Paris Granite 60:

Vincent Paris's Granite 60 cuvée is a remarkable wine sourced from a selection of old vines, averaging 50-60 years in age. These vines are located in three specific lieux-dits: Patou, Les Mazards, and Sauman, all of which feature steep slopes with a 60-degree angle. This unique terroir contributes to the wine's well-balanced and refreshing expression, showcasing the quintessential characteristics of Cornas. With its power, energy, and intensity, the Granite 60 cuvée stands apart as a true representation of the region's excellence.

Vincent Paris La Geynale:

One of Vincent Paris's most acclaimed wines is La Geynale, which is considered his crowning achievement. This exceptional wine is crafted from grapes sourced from vines that were planted over a century ago in 1910. These vines are cultivated in the granite soils of the La Geynale lieux-dit, adding a distinct character to the wine. La Geynale consistently earns its place as one of the top wines in the appellation, and as a result, it is sold on allocation each year.
