Henschke is one of Australia's most renowned and respected wineries producing one of the country’s most iconic single-vineyard wines, the Hill of Grace. Founded in the 1860s by Johann Christian Henschke, the winery has been passed down through six generations of the Henschke family, who have dedicated themselves to preserving the rich winemaking traditions of their forebears while incorporating the latest innovations in winemaking techniques. The estate is now run by husband and wife Stephen and Prue Henschke who are the winemaker and viticulturist, respectively.
The winery's flagship wine, Hill of Grace, is one of the most highly sought-after Shiraz wines in the world and is made from vines that are 155 years old. The wine is a true expression of the Eden Valley terroir, and is renowned for its trademark elegance, complexity, depth, and balance. The wine is tightly allocated and highly sought after.
In addition to Hill of Grace, Henschke produces a range of other high-quality wines, including the Keyneton Euphonium, a classic Barossa blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. This wine showcases the beauty of blending, with each of the four grape varieties clearly visible in all their glory. The Henschke Mount Edelstone, on the other hand, is a pure Shiraz made from vines that date back to 1912. This single-vineyard wine has been produced since 1952 and is considered one of Australia's hallmark single-vineyard wines, known for its kaleidoscope of complexities.
