Keermont Terrasse: A Killer white blend from South Africa

Keermont Terrasse: A Killer white blend from South Africa

Last week, we opened a magnum of Keermont Terrasse 2022—and it left a lasting impression. It’s time to shine a light on what might just be one of the Cape’s best-kept secrets.

Tucked high in the rugged amphitheatre of Stellenbosch’s Upper Blaauwklippen Valley, Keermont is one of South Africa’s most captivating boutique estates. Founded in 2003 by the Wraith family, Keermont’s dry-farmed vines grow on steep slopes of decomposed granite and clay. Under winemaker Alex Starey, the wines reflect place with purity, restraint, and natural balance. Farming is minimal-intervention, and the cellar is hands-off—producing soulful, site-driven wines that have quietly earned global acclaim.

Keermont Terrasse is a barrel-aged white blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards, it’s textured yet precise—opening with pear, lemon curd, lees texture balanced out by floral tones, then revealing lanolin and stone fruit. Gentle oak ageing brings depth without heaviness. The palate is layered and elegant, offering both freshness and complexity. A signature of the estate, Terrasse showcases Keermont’s skill at crafting serious, characterful whites with ageing potential and distinctive Cape identity.

Scoring a double 93-points from Neal Martin and Tim Atkin MW, with the former calling it “vivacious on the entry, taut and linear... a ‘vertical’ Stellenbosch white with an edgy, waxy-textured sapid finish that beckons you back for another sip. Excellent.” In past vintages, he’s called Terrasse a “killer white blend”—and Keermont remains one of the Cape’s best-kept secrets. Best of all, it’s an absolute bargain at just €21.95 inc VAT per bottle.

We highly recommend picking up a few bottles—plus a couple of magnums for the cellar. It’s a decision you won’t regret. We’ve certainly stocked up ourselves!

93 Points | Vinous, Neal Martin

The 2022 Terrasse comes from the estate, using indigenous yeast with 12 months in mostly 500-liter French oak barrels. The varieties complement each other nicely here, the Chenin in the driving seat: honeysuckle, orange pith, popcorn and light almond scents. The palate is vivacious on the entry, taut and linear, a "vertical" white Stellenbosch white with an edgy, waxy-textured sapid finish that beckons you back for another sip. Excellent.

93 Points | Tim Aktin MW

Terrasse is a seamless, skilfully blended cuvée of Chenin Blanc with 54% Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier and Marsanne. Barrel-fermented and aged in older oak, it's floral, spicy and intense, marrying citrus, pear and clementine flavours and a touch of tannic grip. 2023-28

Lukas van Loggerenberg wines Breton Cabernet Franc, Lotter Cincault and Kameraderie Chenin Blanc.

Lukas van Loggerenberg wines Breton Cabernet Franc, Lotter Cincault and Kameraderie Chenin Blanc.

After offering the Graft Syrah from Lukas van Loggerenberg, we received many requests for the rest of his range—so here it is. We’re now pleased to offer the Breton Cabernet Franc, Lotter Cincault and Kameraderie Chenin Blanc.

Lukas van Loggerenberg is part of a new wave of winemakers redefining South African wine—bringing sensitivity, detail and restraint to the fore. Originally from Durbanville, Lukas trained at Elsenburg and cut his teeth working at wineries across the Cape and abroad. After several years at Rudy von Waltsleben’s Druk My Niet, he launched his own label in 2016, beginning with just four barrels made in a rented corner of a friend's cellar.

From the outset, Lukas set out to make wines with soul—wines that are expressive, balanced and transparent to place. Working with some of the Cape’s oldest and most characterful vineyards, he champions heritage varieties like Chenin Blanc and Cinsault, often sourced from gnarly old vines across Stellenbosch, Paarl, and the Swartland. His range includes both reds and whites, but all his wines share a common thread: purity of fruit, electric acidity, and a distinct sense of finesse.

Breton Cabernet Franc

Named after the Loire Valley synonym for Cabernet Franc, Breton is Lukas’s homage to Chinon, reimagined through Stellenbosch terroir. The wine opens with aromas of ripe blackberries and plums, intertwined with its signature herbaceous character. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with finely structured, gripping tannins. Initially reserved, it unfolds with a plush texture, revealing spice and subtle earthiness. The finish is long and drying, yet the vibrant intensity of fruit lingers with remarkable poise.

Lötter Cinsaut

Lötter is a pure Cinsaut from the second-oldest red vineyard in South Africa, planted in 1932 in Franschhoek. The wine presents an earthy, dark-fruited nose with a core of plum, cherries, wet earth, and black pepper. The tannins are finely interwoven, leading to an extra-long finish. Matured in concrete eggs, it showcases good fruit density and a roundness without being weighty, while the acidity is bright and the tannins very fine.

Kameraderie Chenin Blanc

Sourced from 74-year-old dry-farmed vines in Swartland’s decomposed granite soils, Kameraderie is a masterclass in texture and restraint. The bouquet offers lemon curd, white chocolate, and almond scents, with pronounced dusty, mineral tones. The palate is taut but well-balanced, featuring veins of lemon curd and barely ripe nectarines. Its structure is akin to a bronze sculpture—malleable yet firm—promising graceful aging for a decade or more.

If you’re curious about what makes South Africa one of the most exciting wine regions today, Lukas’s wines are the perfect place to start.

Breton Cabernet Franc 2021

breton cab franc

€36.95* inc VAT per bottle

96 Points | Tim Atkin MW

The wine is such an established part of the Cabernet Franc scene in the Cape that it's hard to believe that 2021 is only the sixth vintage of Breton. Wonderfully fresh and perfumed, with dill, violet, paprika and lead pencil aromas, focused black cherry and raspberry fruit, detailed tannins and very nuanced oak. 2024-32

94 Points | Vinous, Neal Martin

The 2021 Breton is the Cabernet Franc cuvée sourced from two farmers that Loggerenberg has worked with since the beginning in Polkedraai and Klein Welnoed, the former 100% whole bunch and the latter de-stemmed. Aged in used 500-litre oak barrels, like previous vintages, it expresses the variety succinctly, obtaining a Loire-like pepperiness (partly due to the stem addition). The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, a dash of white pepper and a touch of lavender, very long and tender with a surfeit of freshness from start to finish. Wonderful.

Lotter Cinsaut 2023

lotter cincaut

€40.95* inc VAT per bottle

95 Points | Tim Atkin MW

The dry conditions in the early part of the harvest meant that the 1932 Lötter vineyard yielded just 1.8 tons per hectare in 2023. Floral, intense and savoury, this is mid-way between a Cinsault and a Nebbiolo in style, with notes of forest floor, truffle and rose petal and layers of plum, bramble and red berries. 2025-30

94 Points | Vinous, Neal Martin

The 2023 Lotter comes from Cinsault vines planted in 1932 that produce naturally low yields. This was 100% destemmed and aged in three 500-liter French barrels. It has a detailed redcurrant and pomegranate nose commingling with wild mint, fennel and a touch of thyme. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, piquant red fruit and a dash of white pepper toward the finish. Linear in style, it has a dry, almost "aloof" finish that keeps you coming back for more. Superb.

Kameraderie Chenin Blanc 2022

kamerderie chenin

€40.95* inc VAT per bottle

94 Points | Vinous, Neal Martin

The 2022 Kameraderie is 100% Chenin Blanc from Swartland, matured in 65% concrete and 35% used oak barrels. Van Loggerenberg mentioned that it is aimed at Chenin purists. Around 70% comes from Lammershoek and was planted in 1960. It has wonderful delineation and mineralité on the nose, vibrant and brimming with energy. The palate is well-balanced with citrus peel, orange rind and just a touch of pistachio, really saline and more-ish on the finish. One of Van Loggerenberg's best cuvées this year.

94 Points | Tim Atkin MW

It wasn't always so, but Kameraderie is now a Paardeberg-sourced Chenin Blanc, made with grapes from two different sites on decomposed granite soils. Engagingly taut, racy and sappy, it has fennel and fynbos aromas, negligible oak influence, a backbone of steely acidity and enticing green apple and lemongrass flavours. 2024-29

5x perfect 100-Point ratings - Lafleur 2019 - NM: "An awe-inspiring Pomerol that will give decades of drinking pleasure for those prepared to wait"

Here comes something special...

100 - Points - William Kelley - "The 2019 Lafleur is an utterly profound young wine that unwinds in the glass with aromas of rose petals, raspberries and sweet spices mingled with notions of blood orange, violets and fresh tobacco that are hauntingly reminiscent of this estate's great 1982. Full-bodied, deep and seamless, it's layered and multidimensional, with a concentrated core of vibrant fruit, lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins, concluding with a long, searingly intense finish. This magical Lafleur is unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage.

100 Points- Neal Martin - "An awe-inspiring Pomerol that will give decades of drinking pleasure for those prepared to wait."

100 - Points - Jeff Leve - "You know what they say, no guts, no glory. 2019 Lafleur is the wine of the vintage!"

Chateau Lafleur stands among the most revered names in Bordeaux—an elite, tiny-production estate in the heart of Pomerol that rivals Petrus in stature. Owned by the Guinaudeau family since 1872, Lafleur produces wines of profound depth, energy and longevity. Its unique terroir of gravel and clay yields a blend of Merlot and Bouchet (Cabernet Franc) that is unmistakably powerful, complex and pure. For collectors and connoisseurs, Lafleur is the very definition of vinous greatness.

Outscoring both Petrus and Le Pin in the 2019 vintage, Lafleur 2019 was one of two wines from Pomerol that the Wine Advocate scored the perfect 100-Point rating. Following suit, it received the perfect 100-point rating from Neal Martin, Suckling, Jeb Dunnuck and Jeff Leve as well.

We have a very small number of cases to offer today at a strong price of €1,250 IB per bottle. These come in 3x75cl OWC cases.

100 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

If tasting the 2019 Château Lafleur doesn't just blow you away, I'm not sure what will. A perfect wine, if such a thing exists, it offers such a complex, singular profile in its black raspberries, kirsch liqueur, licorice, exotic flowers, white truffles, and sandalwood. On the palate, it has serious structure, yet the tannins build with time in the glass, and the mid-palate density and balance are so flawlessly integrated, you have to actually hunt for the structure. Pure, sensationally rich, and at the same time elegant, with awesome depth of fruit, this is what wine dreams are made of. It might be the finest young wine to ever pass my lips. It needs a solid decade of bottle age, 15 years would be even better (it will still blow your mind any time over the coming decade), and it will evolve gracefully over the following 30-40 years.

100 Points | Wine Advocate, William Kelley

100 Points | The Wine Cellar Insider, Jeff Leve
You know what they say, no guts, no glory. 2019 Lafleur is the wine of the vintage! It takes only one sniff and sip to recognize the greatness in this wine. The opaque, purple hue is your first clue as to the character of the wine. But the explosive nose, with its flowers, tobacco leaf, herbs, black, red, and blue fruits is like a theater curtain with seemingly endless layers that need to be unfurled before you get to the main show. Intensely concentrated, the wine coats and fills every nook and cranny of your palate with non-stop, massive waves of perfectly ripe, rich fruits and tannins. The seamless finish is breathtaking for its length, which races past the 60-second mark. This is not a wine to drink young. Give it some time, at least one decade, and maybe two of cellaring before opening a bottle!

100 Points | James Suckling
This is crazy on the nose with crushed stones and violets really rising above the glass, together with iodine, seaweed and ink. Spellbinding. Full-bodied, yet so tight and reserved, with a fine cashmere-like texture and endless length and energy. You can sense the stones and the earth here, but then it reaches to the skies. It’s open, but you feel the depth of the soil. A reference point for the vintage. Try after 2028.

100 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin
The 2019 Lafleur has a bouquet that takes its time to unfurl in the glass, then renders you speechless. Mind-bogglingly intense black fruit, crushed stone and a hint of licorice display astonishing delineation, and blue fruit emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiseled tannins. As is customary, this feels very strict and, on reflection, represents the most quintessential Lafleur I have tasted in my many years of visiting the estate. Tensile from start to finish, it fans out audaciously and seems to never end. Baptiste Guinaudeau compared it with the 2005 and described it as a "[four-letter-expletive] you" Lafleur. When you taste this, you see what he means. An awe-inspiring Pomerol that will give decades of drinking pleasure for those prepared to wait.

99 Points | Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux
Rich and powerful on the nose, with layer upon layer of black and brambly fruits, fresh tobacco leaf. Really one to drink in, raspberry, cherry, blackberry, pencil lead, tobacco, flint, crushed earth, cigar box, inky and powerful and extremely confident. It has so much of the freshness and power of the 2016, with hints of smoked caramel that point to the generosity that is contained within the layers, set against the severity of slate minerality and tight tannins. Likely to shut down pretty severely from now, needs to be given a good 10 years.

99 Points | Decanter, Georgina Hindle
A beautiful, almost sweet florality on the nose here, this smells amazing. Such tension on the palate, direct and crystalline with streamlined tannins and a smooth overall body yet layered with intricate flavours giving an iron/iodine nuance against liquorice, coffee, salty wet stones, raspberry, red cherry and blueberry fruits. Powerful yet succulent, weightless yet dense. A proud wine with a long future ahead. I just love it!

98 Points | Vinous - Antonio Galloni
I am not sure when the 2019 Lafleur is going to be ready to drink, but it is not going to be anytime soon. A huge, powerful wine, the 2019 Lafleur possesses tremendous intensity and energy, but less of the immediate charm of many recent vintages. All of its energy is focused inward. Hints of gravel, crushed rocks, graphite, dried herbs and sweet pipe tobacco gradually emerge over time. The purity of the flavors here is just unreal. The 2019 Lafleur is another magnificent wine from the Guinaudeau family.

“Mouton Rothschild hasn't skipped a beat since the sublime 2009 vintage! […] Full-bodied, richly concentrated, opulent, and equally refined, the multi-layered display of flawlessly ripe berries, elegant textures, balance, freshness and flamboyance is what the great vintages of Mouton are all about. The finish crosses the 60 second mark with ease"

- Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Chateau Mouton Rothschild is one of the most iconic names in all of Bordeaux—renowned not only for its exceptional Pauillac wines but for rewriting the rules of classification. The 2019 Mouton Rothschild is a showstopper—bold, statuesque and deeply refined. A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon with 9% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, it bursts with crème de cassis, black cherry, mint, tobacco and violet. Its velvety tannins and floral lift balance power with finesse. 100 Points | The Wine Independent

The 2019 Mouton Rothschild is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it races out of the glass with gregarious scents of creme de cassis, redcurrant jelly, black raspberries, and chocolate-covered cherries, giving way to a serious undercurrent of licorice, forest floor, candied violets, and cardamom with a touch of cast-iron pan. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with expressive red, black, and blue fruit layers, framed by fine-grained tannins and bold freshness, finishing with floral, exotic spices and a mineral firework display.

100 Points | The Wine Cellar Insider, Jeff Leve

Mouton Rothschild hasn't skipped a beat since the sublime 2009 vintage! 2019 continues their winning streak with one of the wines of the vintage. Almost opaque in color, the nose resonates with its showy display of Asian spices, cigar wrapper, fresh herbs, cigar box, blackberries, crushed stone and cassis. Full-bodied, richly concentrated, opulent, and equally refined, the multi-layered display of flawlessly ripe berries, elegant textures, balance, freshness and flamboyance is what the great vintages of Mouton are all about. The finish crosses the 60 second mark with ease.

100 Points | Falstaff

Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on rim. Fine dark berry fruit, a hint of cassis and liquorice, fresh tangerine zest, nuances of cedar, the bouquet exercises noble restraint. Complex, full-bodied, super elegant texture, fine expression, ripe, long, silky tannins, great density, ripe cherries, mineral, fine spice, convincing length, certain ageing potential, will enter maturity early, so make sure to stock up.

99 Points | James Suckling

This is incredibly complex, with all the cabernet descriptors, from mint and lead pencil to blackberry, blackcurrant and menthol. It changes all the time in the glass, just as in the nose. Yet, it remains cool and classy. Full-bodied with very fine, tight tannins that run the length of the wine, carrying on and on and on. Well-framed and compact wine. Never-ending procession of currant, berry and black cherry fruit, together with licorice, earth and just a hint of black truffle. 90% cabernet sauvignon, 9% merlot and 1% petit verdot. Give this until 2028 to show its true greatness.

99 Points | Vinous - Antonio Galloni

The 2019 Mouton Rothschild has come together beautifully since I tasted it from barrel. Today, it is unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage. Powerful and statuesque in its beauty, Mouton is remarkable in every way. Layers of dark-toned fruit confer seriousness and intensity that builds with time. All of the finesse I saw in barrel is still present. Since then, the 2019 has gained flesh and vibrancy. Magnificent!

98+ Points | Wine Advocate, William Kelley

The 2019 Mouton Rothschild is the most dramatic of the Médoc first growths, soaring from the glass with aromas of cassis, blackberries and violets mingled with rich aromas of cedar, cigar wrapper, licorice, loamy soil and spices. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's deep and powerful, with huge levels of concentration and an ineffably complete, seamless profile, concluding with a long, resonant finish. Plenty of ripe tannin is hidden by its ample core of fruit, and despite its youthful polish, this will require plenty of bottle age to realize all its potential. This blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot tastes in many respects like the 2016 Mouton's more sun-kissed cousin.

Troplong Mondot 2024 - A standout on the right bank

2024 Troplong Mondot Released!

Troplong Mondot is one of the most visually striking and dramatically situated estates in Saint-Émilion, perched high on the limestone plateau with commanding views of the region. A Premier Grand Cru Classé, it has undergone a stylistic transformation in recent years under the direction of Aymeric de Gironde. With no chaptalisation and élevage in new oak and foudre, it balances natural density with remarkable freshness and finesse. Elegant, expressive, and deeply satisfying, this is Troplong at its finest. The critics have been very complimentary this year:

Deep garnet-purple colored. Needs a lot of shaking to wake up wonderfully pure notes of red currant jelly, fresh blackberries, and licorice, plus hints of cardamom, mint tea, and lilacs. The light to medium-bodied palate shimmers with vibrant red and black berry flavors, supported by fine-grained tannins and fantastic tension, finishing long and minerally. Seriously good!

95-97 Points | Vinous - Antonio Galloni

The 2024 Troplong Mondot is a total stunner. As has been the case for some years now, the Grand Vin is blended before being barreled down, which means at the time of tasting en primeur, the wine has seen less wood than the vast majority of its peers. That lends this wine a certain raw energy that is impossible to miss. The purity and intensity of the flavors are simply remarkable. Troplong Mondot is one of the standouts of 2024. Even in this vintage, Troplong Mondot possesses remarkable textural presence, but that richness is matched by notable freshness and linear drive. It was deeply impressive on the two occasions I tasted it. Élevage is planned to be 55% in new oak, 26% in 20HL barrels and 19% in once-used barrels.

96 Points | Decanter, Georgina Hindle

Super fragrant on the nose, ripe blackcurrant, some dried herbs, so much florality and perfumed fruit. Amazing aromatics, so complex. Rosehip, wild strawberries, red cherries, violets, milk chocolate and salty stones. Succulent and so supple, a juicy core with touches of sweetness and density. I also love the minerality that you get on the mid palate after a burst of bright red fruit. Almost plump then smoothes out with a long-lasting flavour. Ends with a moreish salivating aspect of mint, liquorice and wet stones. Tannins are so polished. This has excellent intensity. They achieved full ripeness with natural density but a finessed touch too. A delicious wine that puts a smile on your face but still multifaceted. Ageing 26% foudre, 55% new oak, the rest one year old barrels.

94-96 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

The Grand Vin 2024 Château Troplong Mondot is deeper hued than the Mondot and is based on 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, aging in 55% new wood with portions in foudre and used barrels. It's a classic wine from this Château today that shows the focus on purity, precision, and elegance without being dilute or mid-weight. Black raspberries, spring flowers, spicy wood, and graphite all define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied, has a pure, seamless, elegant mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, and a great finish. It's one of the standouts in the vintage on the right bank.

Jean-Hubert Delon compares the 2024 to “the aromas and flavours of 1986,” and with its regal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, it’s easy to see the connection. The bouquet is finely etched: cassis, cedar, graphite and mint. This is Las Cases in its purest form—classical, structured, and a benchmark expression of Saint-Julien.

A real highlight from St-Julien this year and coming in with a release price of €112.90 IB per bottle, -30% on the release price of 2023.

Complex, refined and truly mineral, this has natural vibrancy and freshness as well as excellent depth. Light midpalate concentration but also no sweetness at all. Medium- to full-bodied with chalky, stony tannins and a long, very tense finish. A vintage of delicacy and finesse. If you seek less alcohol and less power, this will be a great year to buy. 84% cabernet sauvignon, 11% cabernet franc and 5% merlot.

94-96 Points | Vinous - Antonio Galloni

The 2024 Léoville Las-Cases is gorgeous. All the Las-Cases signatures are present, just dialed down a touch. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, grilled herbs, graphite and menthol are all beautifully delineated. The 2024 is distinguished by its precision and total class. Time in the glass brings out the wine's intensely floral, spice-inflected aromatics. Brisk acids and bracing mineral notes wrap it all together in style. I can't wait to taste this from bottle.

94-96 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

The 2024 Château Léoville Las Cases is another incredibly classy wine from this team. It's a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot, coming in at 13.1% natural alcohol and aging in 75% new barrels. Cassis, spicy oak, graphite, and tobacco all emerge on the nose, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with a focused, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and the notable yet integrated acidity that marks the vintage. Complete and layered, this elegant Las Cases brings to mind the great vintages of the 1980s and 1990s. It will benefit from just a few years in bottle, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve for decades.

95 Points | Decanter, Georgina Hindle

Vivid and intense purple colour to the rim. Fragrant rosehip, violets and iris notes, deep and somewhat seductive in terms of aromatics. Supple and alive, the energy here is amazing. Tannins are chalky and filling, immediately covering the mouth with the clean and pure fruit underneath. This is quite massy still, but I love that it’s not at all too lean and focussed. More wide and approachable than some with a cola and liquorice and wet stone element. Chewy, ripe, concentrated and fun. Much less serious than I was expecting, so well crafted with a real element of drinkability and freshness. Not thick or rich, but there’s enough flesh to fill the palate. Ageing 18 months, 75% new barrels. 6.3% press. 3.60pH.

2024 Figeac with -36% discount per bottle - "An absolute triumph in this vintage"

2024 Figeac with -36% discount per bottle - "An absolute triumph in this vintage"

Figeac 2024 is released !

Wow, Figeac steps up and gives the market what it wants. A genuine deal not to miss right now. A must-buy during the En Primeur campaign.

A true Right Bank legend, Chateau Figeac stands apart in Saint-Émilion for its uniquely Médoc-like blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Now a Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Figeac combines Left Bank structure with Right Bank elegance, producing wines of breathtaking finesse and age-worthiness. Under the stewardship of the Manoncourt family and winemaker Frédéric Faye, Figeac has hit a golden era—cementing its place among Bordeaux’s greatest estates with a string of critically acclaimed, pitch-perfect vintages.

Figeac 2024 is a triumph of finesse and balance, offering a Cabernet-driven expression that’s effortlessly elegant. The blend—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc—unfolds in layers of cassis, violets, and graphite. Precision tannins frame a juicy, mineral-driven core, with a ripple of mint and floral lift on the finish. Harvested at low yields and matured in 100% new oak, this is a wine of energy, clarity, and charm. One of the vintage’s quiet greats—textured, vibrant, and unmistakably Figeac.

The critics have scored Figeac 2024 very highly including TWI who scored it 96-98 Points and had it as her wine of the vintage. Jeb Dunnuck was close behind with 95-97 Points and Decanter scored it 96-points - one of their highest of the vintage.

“To have this level of quality in a vintage like 2024 is mind-blowing, and this is one of the top handful of wines in the vintage.”

- Jeb Dunnuck

"Readers may want to consider buying a few cases of Château Figeac—my red pick of the vintage—especially in larger format bottles, which can be tricky to find after bottling."

- Lisa Perrotti-Brown's Wines

Figeac Pricing:

Last year, Figeac 2023 was released at €150 IB and now trades upwards of €170, underscoring the estate’s strong market following and the resilience of its En Primeur performance—even in today’s climate.

With that in mind, the 2024 release at just €112 IB per bottle represents exceptional value. This is well below expectations and offers a rare opportunity to secure one of Bordeaux’s most admired wines at a compelling price.

We strongly recommend collectors act quickly to add this to their cellars.

96-98 Points | The Wine Independent

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2024 Figeac opens with classic notes of cassis, kirsch, pencil shavings, and violets, leading to nuances of mint tea and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is dense with tightly wound black and red berry flavors, framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and wonderful tension, finishing very long with lots of mineral and floral sparks. An absolute triumph in this vintage. Tasted twice with consistent score and notes.

95-97 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

Based on 33% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc, and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2024 Château Figeac reveals a classic Figeac nose of ripe blue fruits, sappy tobacco, flowers, and graphite. Medium to full-bodied, it has a fabulous, seamless mouthfeel, ultra-fine tannins, beautiful balance, and a great finish. To have this level of quality in a vintage like 2024 is mind-blowing, and this is one of the top handful of wines in the vintage.

96 Points | Decanter

Gorgeous fragrance on the nose, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and black cherries, floral roses and iris - you can really smell the Cabernet Franc. Lovely intensity of fruit with such freshness from the start. A burst of acidity and zingy red fruit which then transforms into a soft and creamy mid palate before turning more mineral and crisp on the finish. Really a lovely journey from start to end. Well proportioned, not a light wine. This has a touch of chew with cooling minty liquorice aspects. It’s elegant, leaning into the vintage in terms of density, but wow there is such delicacy and detail here. I love it because it’s so relaxed and so charming and full of fruit. The energy and buzz is just exceptional. I could drink this all day! 8% press wine. 3.66pH

95 Points | Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux

Vivid plum and ruby colour, clear ripe raspberry and damson fruits, sappy quality, fine tannins. The Cabernet Franc slowly unfurls its floral waves, violets and iris, with white flowers, savoury black fruits, good energy and length. Figeac has shown over and over again that it can deliver wines that succeed and delight in many different kinds of vintage conditions, and it is an estate to have confidence in. 31hl/ha yield, 100% new oak, 8% press, 3.66pH. 31hl/ha yield. They deleafed on both sides for the first time since technical director Romain Jean-Pierre arrived 13 years ago. Harvest September 20 to October 5.

Silky and aromatic, with velvety tannins, the 2024 Figeac is sublime. Floral and savory aromatics meld into a core of blue/purplish fruit, spice, licorice, lavender and menthol. All the elements are so well balanced. The blend is 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc, with 8% press wines. Not surprisingly, the 2024 is a very Cabernet-driven Figeac. Production is 60,000 bottles, or 50% of normal, because of low yields and further selection in the cellar. Tasted two times.

A classic Haut-Brion 2024 - up to 98 ponts, down 23% in price

A classic Haut-Brion 2024 - up to 98 ponts, down 23% in price

2024 Haut-Brion releases with -23% discount

We’re thrilled to offer four exceptional wines from the Haut-Brion stable: the Grand Vin, the highly acclaimed Haut-Brion Blanc, and both the red and white from La Mission Haut-Brion.

95-97 Points - “I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2024 Château Haut-Brion be the wine of the vintage, and while it's not going to make you forget any of the recent truly great releases, it has more depth, suppleness, and charm than the vast majority of wines in the vintage.” - Jeb Dunnuck

The only First Growth outside the Médoc, Haut-Brion is a name that commands instant reverence. With a lineage stretching back to the 16th century and legendary wines to match, it exemplifies understated power and aristocratic polish. Located in Pessac-Léognan, its gravel-rich soils yield wines of smoky depth, earthy complexity, and regal finesse. Owned by the Dillon family since 1935, Haut-Brion continues to define timeless Bordeaux excellence, producing both red and white wines that are benchmarks of the region.

Haut-Brion 2024 is a poised, layered Pessac-Léognan with classical structure and finesse. It opens with dark berries, olives, graphite and crushed stone, underpinned by taut minerality and fine-grained tannins. James Suckling calls it “a classic vintage” while Jeb Dunnuck praises its charm and seamless depth. Serious and brooding today, the wine promises complexity and grace with age—an elegant, age-worthy Haut-Brion that stands out in the vintage.

haut-brion 2024 pricing

Haut-Brion is once again one of the standout wines of the 2024 vintage, earning critical acclaim up to 97–98 points. 97-98 Points | James Suckling

This year, the style of Haut Brion shows through with transparency, beautiful balance and precision. Fine austerity, with excellent minerality, dark olives and red and dark berries. Structured on the mid-palate. Beautiful depth for the vintage, with really fine-grained tannins and a lengthy finish that lingers. So much vibrancy and finesse. A classic vintage.

95-97 Points | The Wine Independent

Deep garnet-purple colored. Needs a lot of shaking to wake up scents of crushed black currants, red currant jelly, and boysenberries, followed by hints of Sichuan pepper, garrigue, and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate has a firm texture of ripe, fine-grained tannins and great freshness framing the tightly wound, mineral-laced fruits, finishing on a lingering ferrous note.

95-97 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2024 Château Haut-Brion be the wine of the vintage, and while it's not going to make you forget any of the recent truly great releases, it has more depth, suppleness, and charm than the vast majority of wines in the vintage. Ripe blackcurrants, scorched earth, graphite, crushed stone, and violets all define the aromatics, and it has nicely integrated oak, a layered, ripe, seamless mouthfeel, and building tannins. It's a beautiful, layered, elegant Haut-Brion.

94-96 Points | Vinous - Antonio Galloni

The 2024 Haut-Brion is dark and brooding in demeanor, but obviously not as tannic or forbidding as it can be in the early going. All the Haut-Brion signatures are very much present, but they're portrayed in a decidedly understated style that speaks to the personality of the year. Black fruit, scorched earth, spice, tobacco and leather build with time in the glass. The 2024 is a super-classy Haut-Brion. There's gorgeous substance here.

98-100 Points | The Wine Independent

After a little shaking, notes of orange blossoms, fresh grapefruit, and just-ripe pineapple slowly emerge from the glass, followed by hints of fennel seed, wet pebbles, and blanched almonds. The medium-bodied palate is so silky and seamless, melting in your mouth with saline-laced citrus and tropical fruit layers, finishing with epic length and depth. Incredible.

98-99 Points | James Suckling

Minerally and understated nose, but it’s so pure and bright, showing lots of purity and precision this year. Subtle aromas of seashells, green kiwis, wet stones and meringue follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate. Lots of texture and energy, yet it remains dry and really long. 56.1% semillon and 43.9% sauvignon blanc.

95-97 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin

The 2024 Haut-Brion Blanc also has a reserved bouquet like the La Mission Blanc and demands more encouragement than usual. Eventually, there are lime, gooseberry, crushed stone and mirabelle scents that start to gain intensity after ten minutes. The palate is very well balanced with a slightly more pithy texture. It is quite peppery, with fine grip and hints of green olive toward the persistent finish. This is excellent.

la mission haut-brion chateau

La Mission Haut-Brion

Just across the road from Haut-Brion but with a character all its own, La Mission Haut-Brion is one of Pessac-Léognan’s crown jewels. Owned by the Dillon family since 1983, this historic estate crafts bold, brooding reds and crystalline whites with tremendous depth and energy. Known for its smoky richness, minerality, and gravitas, La Mission consistently rivals—and occasionally surpasses—its First Growth neighbour. Recent vintages have only elevated its reputation, confirming it as one of Bordeaux’s most thrilling addresses.

La Mission Haut-Brion 2024

la mission haut-brion 2024
€168* In Bond per bottle

96-97 Points | James Suckling

A precise, classic vintage showing depth of fruit, but with beautiful austerity and minerals. Mostly red fruit, with touches of dark cherries and currants. Medium- to full-bodied with very fine-etched tannins and lots of brightness. So long and refined in the finish, showing restraint. 51% cabernet sauvignon, 46.5% merlot and 2.5% cabernet franc.

94-96 Points | The Wine Independent

Deep garnet-purple colored. Needs a little patient swirling to bring out evocative scents of juicy black plums, fresh blackberries, and kirsch, plus nuances of lilac, star anise, and fragrant soil. The medium-bodied palate is satiny textured with great energy and freshness, delivering layers of blackberries and floral notes, finishing long and perfumed.

93-95 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin

The 2024 La Mission Haut-Brion has a beautifully defined bouquet with pure, mineral-led black fruit, hints of blueberry and a subtle sea spray influence. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins. Fresh and vibrant, this La Mission feels very cohesive and sophisticated. No, there is not the depth and persistence of a top-drawer vintage, but its noticeable complexity is a cut above.

La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc 2024

la mission haut-brion blanc 2024

€505* In Bond per bottle

97-98 Points | James Suckling

The quality of the fruit is great, with beautiful depth and clarity. The acidity is quite bright, and there is enough substance and beautiful texture on the palate to keep it balanced. Long and subtle at this stage, but the potential is huge, with a style that's really minerally and classic. 59% semillon and 41% sauvignon blanc.

96-98 Points | The Wine Independent

Needs a lot of swirling to begin to reveal notes of yuzu, freshly squeezed lemons, and green mango, plus hints of lime blossoms and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate delivers a satiny texture with tightly knit citrus and floral layers, finishing long and minerally. Gorgeous.

96-98 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin

The 2024 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, which has more Sémillon in the blend, was reticent on the nose and demanded more coaxing than usual, (reluctantly) offering scents of red apple, lime flower and crushed stone. The palate is more expressive with impressive weight and density. The 2024 is fresh and vibrant with palpable tension, revealing a tingle of lemongrass and stem ginger towards its sustained finish. When I returned to my glass after 20 minutes, the aromatics had burst open and shown their true colours, with hints of chai and popcorn and wonderful mineralité. This might turn out to be one of the best white La Missions in recent years.

Beau-Sejour Becot 2024: Magnificent. That's all there is to it

Beau-Sejour Becot 2024: Magnificent. That's all there is to it

2024 Beau-Séjour Bécot 2024

One of the most difficult to pronounce Bordeaux chateau’s, but unquestionably one of the most exciting. In recent years, it’s been on a roll, producing a string of outstanding wines. The estate is known for its trademark aromatic profile—easily one of the most expressive and perfumed noses in all of Saint-Émilion, leaping from the glass with vibrant intensity.

“The 2024 Beau-Séjour Bécot is deep, vivid and wonderfully alive. Dynamic and explosive, with striking inner perfume, Beau-Séjour Bécot is hauntingly beautiful” - Antonio Galloni

Perched atop Saint-Émilion’s prized limestone plateau, Beau-Séjour Bécot has risen to the top tier of Right Bank estates. This Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate is family-owned and run with thoughtful precision, producing wines of remarkable purity, minerality, and poise. With Cabernet Franc increasingly playing a leading role, the wines show fine tannins, lifted aromatics, and tension. Recent vintages have drawn high praise, confirming Beau-Séjour Bécot’s place among Bordeaux’s most exciting properties.

Beau-Séjour Bécot 2024 is a stunning expression of Saint Emilion. Bursting with blue fruit, rose petal, and savoury minerality, it’s both perfumed and poised. The 78% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc blend brings lifted aromatics, silky tannins, and remarkable elegance. With growing Cabernet influence and a saline, limestone-driven finish, this is one of the vintage’s most refined and complete wines.

The critics loved this wine with high scores, here is what they’ve said:

“Beau-Séjour Bécot has grown into one of the most distinctive wines in Bordeaux. Simply put, the 2024 is magnificent. That's all there is to it.” - Antonio Galloni

“This is brilliant, and I'd put it up with the crème de la crème of the vintage, especially in this elegant, finesse-driven style” - Jeb Dunnuck

“Feels super classic and classy, refined and elegant with cool blue fruit and lots of saltiness, but so distinguished. You really feel the limestone in the glass. Still serious, you feel the Cabernet spiciness but you don't get the impression they struggled with ripeness at all. A great glass. Sappy, fruity, clean and salty. A true wine of place.” - Decanter

Galloni calls it “magnificent.” We call it essential for the wine collection. Especially at the price offered at today. We love this wine and if you haven’t got it as part of your collection, then 2024 is a great place to start.

Gorgeous fragrance, really quite deep and vivid, almost an opulence to the perfumed nose. Generous and filling, smooth, silky, round and so vibrant. Juicy and lifted but still with structure - this has acidity, a cool freshness, super fine silky tannins and a soft push from start to finish. Feels super classic and classy, refined and elegant with cool blue fruit and lots of saltiness, but so distinguished. You really feel the limestone in the glass. Still serious, you feel the Cabernet spiciness but you don't get the impression they struggled with ripeness at all. A great glass. Sappy, fruity, clean and salty. A true wine of place. A yield of 32hl/ha, 3.40pH.

93-95 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

The 2024 Château Beau-Séjour Bécot is 78% Merlot and 22% Cabernet Franc, aging in 55% new oak with a small part in foudre. Ripe black cherries, leafy herbs, damp earth, and crushed stone notes define the aromatics, and this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, an ultra-fine mouthfeel, gorgeous tannins, and a great finish. This is brilliant, and I'd put it up with the crème de la crème of the vintage, especially in this elegant, finesse-driven style. Tasted twice with consistent results.

93-95 Points | The Wine Independent

Deep garnet-purple colored. Waltzes out with showy scents of black cherries, raspberry coulis, and red currant jelly, leading to hints of lavender oil, black olives, and fragrant earth. The light to medium-bodied palate is subtle and racy with silky tannins and a savory lift on the finish.

Rauzan Segla 2024 - Ben's personal pick of the vintage

Rauzan Segla 2024 - Ben's personal pick of the vintage

2024 Rauzan-Segla with -20% discount to 2023

After a week of tasting the 2024’s down in Bordeaux, our founder Ben declared "if there was one wine I would add to my personal collection without a doubt, it would be Rauzan”. Here we are, the release is here and it does not disappoint.

95-98 Points - Antonio Galloni

“The 2024 Rauzan-Ségla is magnificent. One of the top wines of the Left Bank, Rauzan-Ségla possesses tremendous textural density and mind-blowing balance. Dark fruit, lavender, spice, licorice and new leather are all dialed up in a potent, layered Margaux that offers stunning harmony and incredible purity. At this stage, Rauzan-Ségla is one of the wines of the vintage in Bordeaux. Elegant yet powerful, the 2024 is simply magnificent.”

Rauzan-Ségla is one of Margaux’s great historic estates—ranked alongside Chateau Margaux and Palmer at the top of the appellation. A Second Growth in the 1855 Classification, it combines noble pedigree with modern precision. Under the ownership of Chanel since 1994 and the direction of Nicolas Audebert, Rauzan-Ségla has soared, producing wines of elegance, depth and refinement. Its deep gravel terroir yields Cabernet-led wines that age gracefully and speak clearly of Margaux finesse.

Rauzan-Ségla 2024 is one of the standout wines of the Left Bank this year, combining elegance, precision and remarkable purity. A seductive yet structured Margaux, it offers a bouquet of dark fruit, sweet cherry, rose petal and graphite. The estate’s first certified organic vintage, it shows great finesse, refined tannins and energy.

One of the top performances on the left bank, Rauzan-Selga 2024 coming in with a -20% discount to 2023 is a no brainer buy for us. We can’t recommend it enough. The wine carried an incredible tension and flair that we fell in love with. It’s sexy, seductive and we’re adding it to our personal cellars and recommend that you should too.

Deep garnet-purple colored. Strides confidently out of the glass with classic black currants and red currant scents, leading to a core of cedar chest, underbrush, and damp soils, plus a touch of red roses. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant with exquisitely ripe tannins and beautifully knit tension framing the red and black berry layers, finishing long and fragrant. This is a finished blend, completed 2 months ago.

18.50+ Points | Matthew Jukes

It is funny how communes gather their vintage reputations from the whole, not individual Châteaux.  In 2024, Margaux is one of the less exciting places to shop, and yet, alongside the remarkable wines from Palmer and Margaux itself, there are some solid performers, which you can read about in my comprehensive report.  There is no hurry, I suspect, to load up with these peripheral wines, as stocks are unlikely to run dry any time soon.  But there is one shining light.  An exception.  A wine that slots in neatly alongside the aforementioned cosmonauts, hovering high over the expectant throng below.  Rausan-Ségla is fast-cementing its reputation as a staggeringly impressive wine and one of considerable detail, beauty and, dare I say it, genuine qualité prix.  Refined, intricately detailed and reassuringly firm on the finish, this is a fascinating and involving wine, and it looks set to break the mould for the vintage, offering a wine that will flatter in its youth but will undoubtedly improve incrementally with age and perhaps make two decades and more!  While the Cabernet component falls short of 2/3 involvement, this variety stands proud in the glass with terrific concentration and majesty.  The silhouette is unquestionably classical, resolutely medium-weight and spellbindingly intense without ever feeling muscular or brittle.  Combine these traits with stunning potential on account of the beautifully toned tannins, and you have an unmissable combination of characteristics.

95  Points | Decanter, Georgina Hindle

Cherry stone on the nose, rose, violet, strawberry and red cherry. Chewy and well textured, filling but gentle, the tannins are exceptional and the freshness is so well balanced with the fruit. So sophisticated, confident, smooth and utterly compelling. I love it, round, soft with lifted acidity that gives the tang with some liquorice on the finish. Energy and focus with real succulence. Still not a big wine, but this has plenty of style and refinement and a feeling of happiness about it. 0.5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. Ageing 50% new barrels for 18 months. 55% production. 3.7pH.

94 Points | Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux, Jane Anson

Inky colour here, one of the deepest in the appellation, lovely precision, great quality, the cool spirit of the vintage comes through in the sappy fruit, blue rather than black in character if not in colour, with black tea, espresso, chalk, lots of finesse, and still delivers flesh through the mid palate, with a touch of bitter cocoa bean on the finish. 22% press wine, 50% new oak, 3.7ph. This is the first organic certified vintage. 30hl/h yield, 55% of production in the main estate wine.

Fine Wine Library:

2024 was Rauzan’s first vintage as certified organic which is a testament to the work they have been doing in the vineyard. Rauzan-Segla’s style is usually seductive and sexy and the 2024 does not deviate from this. Great weight, serious structure balanced out by aromas of berry confit, sweet cherries and a feminine floral seductiveness. We loved the wine and it’s the one wine we will without a doubt be adding to our personal collections.
