Lokoya Winery

Lokoya is Napa Valley’s ultimate expression of mountain terroir, producing rare, powerful Cabernet Sauvignons from four of the region’s most exalted elevations. Since its founding in 1995, Lokoya has captivated collectors with single-vineyard bottlings from Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain, and Diamond Mountain—each showcasing the tension, structure, and intensity that only high-altitude vines can deliver. Crafted by winemaker Christopher Carpenter, these wines are age-worthy, complex and bold, yet refined. With low production and cult status, Lokoya is one of California’s most prized producers of site-specific Cabernet.
Lokoya sources fruit exclusively from the upper reaches of Napa’s most rugged mountain AVAs: Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain, Spring Mountain, and Diamond Mountain. These high-altitude vineyards—ranging from 1,200 to 2,600 feet—offer poor, rocky soils, cooler temperatures, and dramatic diurnal shifts. The result? Wines of intensity, structure, and freshness, with deep colour, fine tannins, and remarkable ageing potential. Each site is vinified separately, capturing the essence of its elevation and geology. At Lokoya, altitude isn’t just a feature—it’s the foundation.
