2024 Haut-Brion releases with -23% discount

We’re thrilled to offer four exceptional wines from the Haut-Brion stable: the Grand Vin, the highly acclaimed Haut-Brion Blanc, and both the red and white from La Mission Haut-Brion.

95-97 Points - “I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2024 Château Haut-Brion be the wine of the vintage, and while it's not going to make you forget any of the recent truly great releases, it has more depth, suppleness, and charm than the vast majority of wines in the vintage.” - Jeb Dunnuck

The only First Growth outside the Médoc, Haut-Brion is a name that commands instant reverence. With a lineage stretching back to the 16th century and legendary wines to match, it exemplifies understated power and aristocratic polish. Located in Pessac-Léognan, its gravel-rich soils yield wines of smoky depth, earthy complexity, and regal finesse. Owned by the Dillon family since 1935, Haut-Brion continues to define timeless Bordeaux excellence, producing both red and white wines that are benchmarks of the region.

Haut-Brion 2024 is a poised, layered Pessac-Léognan with classical structure and finesse. It opens with dark berries, olives, graphite and crushed stone, underpinned by taut minerality and fine-grained tannins. James Suckling calls it “a classic vintage” while Jeb Dunnuck praises its charm and seamless depth. Serious and brooding today, the wine promises complexity and grace with age—an elegant, age-worthy Haut-Brion that stands out in the vintage.

97-98 Points | James Suckling

This year, the style of Haut Brion shows through with transparency, beautiful balance and precision. Fine austerity, with excellent minerality, dark olives and red and dark berries. Structured on the mid-palate. Beautiful depth for the vintage, with really fine-grained tannins and a lengthy finish that lingers. So much vibrancy and finesse. A classic vintage.

95-97 Points | The Wine Independent

Deep garnet-purple colored. Needs a lot of shaking to wake up scents of crushed black currants, red currant jelly, and boysenberries, followed by hints of Sichuan pepper, garrigue, and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate has a firm texture of ripe, fine-grained tannins and great freshness framing the tightly wound, mineral-laced fruits, finishing on a lingering ferrous note.

95-97 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2024 Château Haut-Brion be the wine of the vintage, and while it's not going to make you forget any of the recent truly great releases, it has more depth, suppleness, and charm than the vast majority of wines in the vintage. Ripe blackcurrants, scorched earth, graphite, crushed stone, and violets all define the aromatics, and it has nicely integrated oak, a layered, ripe, seamless mouthfeel, and building tannins. It's a beautiful, layered, elegant Haut-Brion.

94-96 Points | Vinous - Antonio Galloni

The 2024 Haut-Brion is dark and brooding in demeanor, but obviously not as tannic or forbidding as it can be in the early going. All the Haut-Brion signatures are very much present, but they're portrayed in a decidedly understated style that speaks to the personality of the year. Black fruit, scorched earth, spice, tobacco and leather build with time in the glass. The 2024 is a super-classy Haut-Brion. There's gorgeous substance here.

98-100 Points | The Wine Independent

After a little shaking, notes of orange blossoms, fresh grapefruit, and just-ripe pineapple slowly emerge from the glass, followed by hints of fennel seed, wet pebbles, and blanched almonds. The medium-bodied palate is so silky and seamless, melting in your mouth with saline-laced citrus and tropical fruit layers, finishing with epic length and depth. Incredible.

98-99 Points | James Suckling

Minerally and understated nose, but it’s so pure and bright, showing lots of purity and precision this year. Subtle aromas of seashells, green kiwis, wet stones and meringue follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate. Lots of texture and energy, yet it remains dry and really long. 56.1% semillon and 43.9% sauvignon blanc.

95-97 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin

The 2024 Haut-Brion Blanc also has a reserved bouquet like the La Mission Blanc and demands more encouragement than usual. Eventually, there are lime, gooseberry, crushed stone and mirabelle scents that start to gain intensity after ten minutes. The palate is very well balanced with a slightly more pithy texture. It is quite peppery, with fine grip and hints of green olive toward the persistent finish. This is excellent.

la mission haut-brion chateau

La Mission Haut-Brion

Just across the road from Haut-Brion but with a character all its own, La Mission Haut-Brion is one of Pessac-Léognan’s crown jewels. Owned by the Dillon family since 1983, this historic estate crafts bold, brooding reds and crystalline whites with tremendous depth and energy. Known for its smoky richness, minerality, and gravitas, La Mission consistently rivals—and occasionally surpasses—its First Growth neighbour. Recent vintages have only elevated its reputation, confirming it as one of Bordeaux’s most thrilling addresses.

96-97 Points | James Suckling

A precise, classic vintage showing depth of fruit, but with beautiful austerity and minerals. Mostly red fruit, with touches of dark cherries and currants. Medium- to full-bodied with very fine-etched tannins and lots of brightness. So long and refined in the finish, showing restraint. 51% cabernet sauvignon, 46.5% merlot and 2.5% cabernet franc.

94-96 Points | The Wine Independent

Deep garnet-purple colored. Needs a little patient swirling to bring out evocative scents of juicy black plums, fresh blackberries, and kirsch, plus nuances of lilac, star anise, and fragrant soil. The medium-bodied palate is satiny textured with great energy and freshness, delivering layers of blackberries and floral notes, finishing long and perfumed.

93-95 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin

The 2024 La Mission Haut-Brion has a beautifully defined bouquet with pure, mineral-led black fruit, hints of blueberry and a subtle sea spray influence. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins. Fresh and vibrant, this La Mission feels very cohesive and sophisticated. No, there is not the depth and persistence of a top-drawer vintage, but its noticeable complexity is a cut above.

97-98 Points | James Suckling

The quality of the fruit is great, with beautiful depth and clarity. The acidity is quite bright, and there is enough substance and beautiful texture on the palate to keep it balanced. Long and subtle at this stage, but the potential is huge, with a style that's really minerally and classic. 59% semillon and 41% sauvignon blanc.

96-98 Points | The Wine Independent

Needs a lot of swirling to begin to reveal notes of yuzu, freshly squeezed lemons, and green mango, plus hints of lime blossoms and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate delivers a satiny texture with tightly knit citrus and floral layers, finishing long and minerally. Gorgeous.

96-98 Points | Vinous - Neal Martin

The 2024 La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, which has more Sémillon in the blend, was reticent on the nose and demanded more coaxing than usual, (reluctantly) offering scents of red apple, lime flower and crushed stone. The palate is more expressive with impressive weight and density. The 2024 is fresh and vibrant with palpable tension, revealing a tingle of lemongrass and stem ginger towards its sustained finish. When I returned to my glass after 20 minutes, the aromatics had burst open and shown their true colours, with hints of chai and popcorn and wonderful mineralité. This might turn out to be one of the best white La Missions in recent years.
