Pieropan's impressive 2021 Single vinyard wines

Pieropan is one of Italy’s most loved producers of white wines and undeniably a cornerstone among Soave's elite winemakers. At a time when the region's reputation was suffering due to an influx of overproduced, simplistic wines, Pieropan not only maintained its stature but its name has become synonymous with quality in Soave. Today, they still push the boundaries creating some of the finest wines in the appellation.
"The wines from Pieropan Winery possess a unique charm, effortlessly captivating the senses with their layers of complexity, vibrant acidity, and remarkable mineral expression. Each sip is an invitation to experience true oenological artistry." - Jancis Robinson
Single vineyard: Calvario & La Rocca:
The single vineyard wines of Calvarino and La Rocca both have their own unique personality. Calvarino, entirely aged in cement, offers remarkable tension, structure, and minerality. On the other hand, La Rocca, with its barrel fermentation and ageing, provides a richer and more profound experience. 2021 was a great vintage for Pieropan and both wines scored highly from the wine critics such as the Wine Advocate and Vinous (see reviews below). Both are available to buy in a single bottle or 6x75cl case format.
"For lovers and collectors of the world's best white wines, it’s time to welcome Soave back to your cellars" - Eric Guido, Vinous
Pieropan Soave Classico 2022:
As one of Italy's cherished white wine producers, Pieropan shined in the balanced vintage year of 2022, especially with their remarkable Soave Classico, priced attractively at just €15.83 inc BTW per bottle. This wine impresses with vibrant citrus and stone fruit notes, enhanced by lively acidity and a long-lasting finish. It will be one of our go-to summer whites this summer.

Pieropan Soave Classico Calvarino 2021
94 Points | Wine Advocate, Monica Larner
Celebrating its 50th anniversary (1971-2021), the organic Pieropan 2021 Soave Classico Calvarino has a soft and richly textured side that is contrasted against the bright citrusy and mineral flavors that the Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave grapes are known for. This blend sees 70% of the first grape and 30% of the second, and the wine is aged in cement for up to 15 months. That's the special quality offered by Calvarino, a wine that is modern yet also rooted in local tradition. You get a lot of food-pairing potential out of this bottle, whether it be sushi or roasted chicken. Production is 70,000 bottles.
Pieropan Soave Classico La Rocca 2021
95 Points | Wine Advocate, Erin Larkin
The organic Pieropan 2021 Soave Classico La Rocca shows a golden hue with hints of shiny emerald and green. Made with 100% Garganega, it ages in tonneaux for 12 months. The wine is viscous in appearance, gliding within the inside of the glass with thick, slow swirls. The effect is beautiful and full-bodied for sure, with apricot, poached pear, crushed stone and very light saffron or cinnamon. This is just a terrific vintage from a world-class producer. Luckily for us, 48,000 bottles were made.
Pieropan Soave Classico 2022

The organic Pieropan 2022 Soave Classico (in a screw-cap bottle) is beautifully fresh and balanced with citrus, white peach and crushed stone. The aromatic assembly is simple, but that's exactly what attracts you to a wine like this (made with 85% Garganega and 15% Trebbiano di Soave in cement tanks). It falls easily over the palate, refreshing along the way, reviving the senses and definitely inviting the next sip. This is an ample 500,000-bottle production.
