Dugat-Py is based in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Cote de Nuits, Burgundy. The family brings 13 generations of winegrowing history to the estate, which covers approximately 10 hectares under current winemaker Loic Dugat-Py. Farming follows organic and biodynamic principles, with a speciality in old-vine Pinot Noir. Estate History
The Dugat family has farmed vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin for centuries, with documented roots stretching back to the seventeenth century. The modern estate took shape under Bernard Dugat, who renamed it Dugat-Py in 1994 by combining his own surname with that of his wife.
Loic Dugat-Py joined the family domaine in 1997 before taking full responsibility for winemaking in 2015. Whilst preserving the concentration and depth that made the estate famous, he has introduced significant changes in both the vineyard and cellar. Organic farming, horse ploughing, taller canopies, reduced new oak and lower intervention have all contributed to a more refined, energetic style without sacrificing the character that defines Dugat-Py.
Today, the domaine remains one of Burgundy's most respected estates. Exceptionally old vines, many over 70 years of age and some planted as early as 1910, continue to produce remarkably low yields and wines of outstanding concentration and longevity.
