Rauzan-Segla 2025 - The powerfull side of Margaux

Rauzan-Segla 2025 - The powerfull side of Margaux

2025 Rauzan-Segla releases En Primeur!

Another offer with great pricing today, same as 2024!

If you enjoy the richer, more powerful side of Margaux, as exemplified by Chateau Palmer, then Rauzan-Segla 2025 should be firmly on your radar. It shares the famed Terrace 4 gravel terroir with Palmer, yet comes at a fraction of the price. More importantly, the quality is outstanding.

It was one of the wines that impressed us most during En Primeur tastings and, in our view, ranks among the finest Rauzan-Seglas produced in recent years.

96-98 Points - Jeb Dunnuck

“It's concentrated on the palate, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, flawless balance, and a great finish. […]  it's rockingly good and clearly up with the finest wines in the appellation, as well as the vintage.”

Chateau Rauzan-Segla is one of Margaux’s great aristocrats, combining centuries of history with some of the appellation’s most coveted terroir. Owned by Chanel since 1994, the estate has undergone a remarkable renaissance, producing wines of perfume, precision and finesse. Under Nicolas Audebert, Rauzan-Segla has firmly established itself among the leading estates of Margaux, regularly challenging the very best wines of the appellation.

A significant portion of Rauzan-Segla's vineyards lies on the famed Terrace 4 gravel plateau, one of the most prized terroirs in Margaux. Shared with neighbours such as Palmer, these deep gravel soils provide exceptional drainage and encourage profound Cabernet Sauvignon expression. The result is wines of remarkable aromatic complexity, freshness and elegance, with a distinctive mineral backbone that shines through in every vintage.

Rauzan-Segla 2025 is a beautifully complete Margaux, combining floral perfume, silky texture and remarkable precision. Aromas of violets, cassis, black cherry and crushed stone lead into a seamless palate framed by polished tannins and vibrant freshness. Critics praised its elegance, harmony and weightless intensity, with several placing it among the finest wines of the vintage.

A stunning Rauzan-Segla and one of the stars of Margaux 2025.

Released today at €56* In Bond per bottle. We were huge fans when we tasted it from barrel, and it comes strongly recommended.

97-99 Points | The Wine Cellar Insider, Jeff Leve

Showing a depth of color, at first, you are almost overwhelmed by the violets, cherries and tobacco in the perfume. The initial sip shows off its character with elegance, vitality, and purity. Everything is in balance and harmony here. The silk and velvet finish is almost too much of a good thing. From start to finish, the wine is seamless, and even though there is intensity and serious concentration, the wine feels almost weightless, making this deceptively easy to drink. Yet, don't be fooled. It has all the goods needed to age and evolve for decades. The wine blends of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon. 33% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot and .5 Cabernet Franc. 13.5% ABV. 3.67 pH. Harvesting took place September 2 - September 24. Yield were 29 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2030-2070.

98 Points | Falstaff, Peter Moser

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate rim brightening. Candied violets, cassis, blackberry confit, delicate precious wood nuances, multi-faceted, suggestive bouquet. Complex, after heart cherries, strawberries, extract-sweet texture, silky tannins, highly elegant, mineral, great length, great promise for the future, secure development potential.

96-98 Points | Jeb Dunnuck

Cassis, assorted red and black fruits, spicy wood, tobacco, and graphite all emerge from the 2025 Château Rauzan-Ségla, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot, and 0.5% Cabernet Franc that's being raised 18 months in 60% new French oak. It's concentrated on the palate, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, flawless balance, and a great finish. Checking in at 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.7, it's rockingly good and clearly up with the finest wines in the appellation, as well as the vintage.

97 Points | Jane Anson

Inky colour, this is sleek, powerful, a ton of energy and uplift, very classy, bouncy, feel that you are very much in the heart of rose bud and iris flowers, DNA of the Margaux appellation, liquorice and black chocolate, really a skilfully constructed wine that will power through the years. Nicolas Audebert. Harvest September 2 to 24, 29hl/ha yield, 3.67ph.

97 Points | Decanter, Georgina Hindle

Gorgeous vibrant pink rim to the wine with violet aromas on the nose, very dark but very perfumed and not at all hot or sunny. So juicy and alive with structure – the soft tannins give the outline while the real fruit purity sits in the middle. I love this a lot, very approachable, streamlined and focused with layers of fine tannins and brightness. You can feel the concentration in the construction but this carries a really fun, friendly, welcoming aspect because of the juiciness on the mid-palate. 50% grand vin production. 3.67pH. Ageing 18 months, 60% new oak. 0.5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend.

96-97 Points | James Suckling

Blackberry, dark cherry and crushed stone notes with a medium to full body, extremely fine and polished with a long and pretty finish. Racy and precise. Fresh and fine. Lovel the floral notes in the nose. A blend of 65% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot, 1.5% petit verdot, and .5% cabernet franc.

95-97 Points | Antonio Galloni

The 2025 Rauzan-Ségla is totally seamless in the glass. Dark-toned fruit, mocha, new leather, licorice, menthol and dried herbs infuse the palate with tremendous textural depth. The 2025 is of course very young. The year's natural concentration is its most evident signature at this time, but the rest will surely follow. Polished, supremely elegant tannins support the finish. What a stunner. Tasted two times.

94-96 Points | Wine Advocate, William Kelley

The 2025 Rauzan-Ségla is promising, opening in the glass with notes of cassis, pencil shavings, sweet soil tones and a deft framing of new oak. Medium- to full-bodied, bright and layered, it's vibrant and concentrated, with a chassis of fine tannins and a penetrating, youthfully structured finish.

94-96 Points | Neal Martin

The 2025 Rauzan-Ségla was picked September 2 to 15 at 29 hl/ha and matured in 60% new oak barrels. This has a slight marine scent on the nose, well defined and marked by pure black fruit laced with violet. Quintessential Rauzan Ségla. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant but firm tannins, just gorgeous caressing black fruit, bright acids that lend an almost sorbet-like freshness and vibrancy to the finish. This is a top-class Margaux and one of the best wines from the estate in recent years.
