Cavallotto

"Readers who appreciate a firm, classic style of Barolo will want to spend some time getting to know Cavallotto.”

– Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Founded in 1928 and now on its 4th generation of family ownership, everything that happens at Cavallotto is ‘traditional'. They’ve been farming organically since 1976 whilst utilizing 20- to 100-hectoliter untoasted Slavonian oak botti for the maturation of their wines.  Cavallotto’s wines have become highly sought after by Barolo collectors for their classic, age-worthy, firm yet refined tannins. The secret to their success is the 100% family-owned Bricco Boschis Cru which is located on a hill in Castiglione Falletto, parallel to the famous Monprivato.
